  NUWARELIYA

 

      Nuwara Eliya, also known as "Little England" due to its colonial-era architecture and cool climate, is a popular hill station in Sri Lanka. The town and surrounding areas are known for their tea plantations, lush landscapes, and serene atmosphere. 

 

1.Gregory Lake-

Gregory Lake is one of the most popular attractions in Nuwara Eliya, offering a picturesque setting for both relaxation and recreational activities.  

   -Visitors can enjoy boat rides on the lake, stroll around the scenic pathways, or take part in picnicking activities. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and offers beautiful views of the hills.  


2. Hakgala Botanical Garden-  

The Hakgala Botanical Garden is one of the highest-altitude botanical gardens in Sri Lanka, known for its diverse collection of flora and its vibrant landscape.

      The garden is home to many species of plants, including roses, orchids, and medicinal plants. The expansive grounds provide a peaceful environment, and visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk amidst the flowers and trees.  







3. Nuwara Eliya Town-

The town of Nuwara Eliya itself is known for its colonial-era architecture, charming streets, and cool climate. It’s a mixture of modern-day shops and old British-style houses, offering a unique atmosphere.  

    Key attractions in the town include Victoria Park, which is a beautiful public park with walking trails and birdwatching opportunities. The Nuwara Eliya Post Office , designed in the British colonial style, is another iconic landmark.
